Getting to know Screen Time, Tips for Overcoming it for Children and Parents

Screen time is

Screen time is the time spent in front of an electronic screen, such as a television, tablet, or smartphone. This is important to note, especially in the early years of your little one.

"My child has a lot of vocabulary, because of screen time"

Tips to limit screen time

Leaving your child in contact with technology is not a problem to worry about as long as you can control it. Therefore, here are tips that you can follow to limit screen time.


Make sure you are with and interact with children during screen time.

Introduce applications or programs that are useful for children, and find out what children have access to during screen time.

You should also schedule screen-free time for your little one, including when they eat together and go to bed.

Use parental control features to limit the time children play on their devices and the content they access.

Invite your child to do other activities, such as playing sports, going for a walk, or reading a book together.



And there are many more "benefits" of screen time that sometimes make parents complacent to make it a support system in stimulating their children


According to WHO, the recommendation for no screen time at all is until the age of 18-24 months.


So why does screen time have to be discussed?


Then, what if we really are not able to make children NOT exposed to screen time at all, especially at the age of 0-24 months?
